Cobb Pediatrics is excited to introduce its brand new group weight loss program for motivated teens called Fit Club! If your teenager has been struggling with their weight and is ready to work on change, Fit Club is for them.
There never seems to be enough time in a regular medical visit to discuss nutrition, weight loss, exercise, and what actions are necessary to achieve successful weight loss. After years of frustration with this, Dr. Julia Gaines has decided to shake up the medical model and go rogue. Fit Club is a comprehensive 8 week program for overweight high school students. During this time, Dr. Gaines will meet with your teen weekly in a small group setting that will allow for education, encouragement, and coaching to affect real change. In addition, you and your teen may also send Dr. Gaines messages through our patient portal at any time with questions or even just to touch base. By the end of the program, your teen will have the knowledge and skills to continue and complete their weight loss journey.
Fit Club will meet every Tuesday between January 28 and March 24, 2020 (skipping February 18 for Winter Break) between 4 and 5pm, although we will start weigh-in at 3:30. Parents may either drop their children off at our office, or stay and enjoy the free wifi in the waiting room. Parents are encouraged to attend several of the meetings but some will be kid-only to encourage free discussion.
The fee to join Fit Club is $197 for the 8 week program and all materials. As this cannot be billed to your insurance company, there is no copay for the meetings. Payment is due by the first Fit Club meeting on January 28. There are a limited number of memberships available for Fit Club, so reserve your teen’s slot now! Please call the office at (770) 425-5331 or send us a portal message to make your reservation or ask any questions.
