Meet The Cobb Pediatrics Providers

Cobb Pediatrics is a collaborative practice made up of board-certified pediatricians and certified pediatric nurse practitioners. We believe that children and adolescents are not “little adults” and that they should be treated by pediatric specialists with appropriate training and expertise. We think that kids are amazing and that watching them grow and develop into happy, healthy adults is the greatest job anyone can have!
Julia Gaines, MD, FAAP
Dr. Gaines received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and her medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then returned to Vanderbilt to complete her residency in pediatrics. Dr. Gaines is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and also an active a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a special interest in infectious diseases and travel medicine as well as in general pediatric medicine. In her spare time, she is an active volunteer at Zoo Atlanta and other conservation groups.
Craig L. Lebish, MD, FAAP
Dr. Lebish received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University Bloomington and his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. He then returned to the Indiana University Medical Center to complete his internship and residency. Dr. Lebish is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and also an active a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His special interests are sports medicine and general pediatric medicine. While away from the office, Dr. Lebish enjoys spending time with his family and their dog, Snickers.
Robert Forbes, MD, FAAP
Dr. Forbes received his undergraduate degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He spent the following ten years in the U.S. Army completing his residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, and did tours of duty at Fort Stewart and Fort Gordon. Dr. Forbes is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and also an active a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His medical interests include developmental pediatrics and coordinating the care of children with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
Nikki Roberts, MD, FAAP
Dr. Roberts received her undergraduate degree from Yale University in New Haven, CT and her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. She then completed her internship and Pediatric residency at Emory University. Dr. Roberts is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and also an active a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her special interest is adolescent medicine. While away from the office she enjoys outdoor activities and community service.
Dara Hosch, MD, FAAP
Dr. Hosch completed her Pediatric training at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. She is a graduate of Mercer University School of Medicine and also has degrees from the University of South Alabama and Texas Women’s University. Dr. Hosch is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and also an active a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her special interests include international adoption and lactation. During her spare time, Dr. Hosch enjoys volunteering with Childspring International and spending time with her family.
Erika van Putten, MD, FAAP
Dr. van Putten received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College. She obtained her medical degree and completed her Pediatric residency at Penn State University in Hershey, PA. Dr. van Putten is a a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and active member of the National Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She holds certifications in both Basic Life Support and Pediatric Life Support. Dr. van Putten’s special interest is general pediatrics.
Julie Cosgrove, CPNP
Julie Cosgrove was born and raised in Maine.She graduated from Saint Xavier College in Chicago, IL with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Julie worked in pediatric intensive care and neonatal units for 10 years and then went on to earn her Masters degree in Child Health at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She is certified in Pediatric Life Support and has a special interest in pediatric safety. Julie has been a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Cobb Pediatrics for almost 25 years and loves her job. She loves to spend time with her family, travel, read and work in her yard.
Denise Swain, CPNP
Denise Swain graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in nursing. She has 22 years of pediatric experience and has been a Nurse Practitioner for 16 years. Denise is Pediatric Life Support certified and is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Her special interests are general pediatrics and development of children and adolescents. During her spare time she enjoys gardening and traveling.
Deanna Renz, CPNP, PMHS
Deanna Renz was awarded her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Kennesaw State University. She then attended Georgia State University and was awarded her Masters of Science degree in Nursing. Deanna Is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Certiﬁed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience. In 2018, she received her certification as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Her interests include holistic nursing, illness prevention, health maintenance, and building relationships with her patients. While away from the office, Deanna enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and her pets.
